Our Orangutan Jungle School series takes you on a roller coaster of emotions as we follow orphaned orangutans who attend the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation’s unique jungle school in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Tragically, the mothers of these orangutan orphans were killed by the actions of humans, or suffered some other awful fate. Wild orangutan mothers are fiercely protective of their children and would never leave them willingly.
Now, human surrogate mothers are giving these youngsters the training and support they need to grow into independent orangutans. But this is just the beginning as these jungle school students have a long journey ahead in their quest for a second chance at freedom.
Love Nature viewers can adopt a Jungle School student, and help them on their journey back to the wild!
Your gift of adoption will support BOSF rescue and rehabilitation efforts and help cover the cost of medicine, food, equipment, rescue operations, and hundreds of other things necessary for the ongoing wellbeing of the orangutans in their care.
Meet our Jungle School Students:
